Director of Operations (1171)


Reports to: President

Department: 300 – Operations Management/1200-Type 2

Pay Status: Exempt, Pay Grade 14

SUMMARY:

Member of U.S. senior leadership team (SLT).  Responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the organization’s mission, vision and values.  Responsible for the operations of the 1171 facility, including support/production of Demers Type II products, Braun remounts and Braun service work.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Member of the Van Wert site executive management team and the U.S. senior leadership team.

2.      Actively demonstrate organizational values.

3.      Execution of organization’s mission and vision.

4.      Build positive culture within the workplace

5.      Development and executive of strategic planning.

6.      Leadership, planning and output of the Demers Type II production.

7.      Leadership, planning and output of the Braun remount production.

8.      Leadership, planning and output of the Braun service production.

9.      Utilizing Braun Performance Excellence System (BPES) to meet objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.

10.   Develop management talent within operational areas to achieve performance targets.

11.   Achieve operational objectives through planning, implementing, evaluating and forecasting.

12.   Participate in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technology to improve production costs and promote on-time delivery.

13.   Manage the manufacturing operations concurrent with business growth, introduction of new products, cost objectives and various product mix.

14.   Provide input for policies and procedures related to operations and general business.

15.   Strengthen and grow relationships with all stakeholders – employees, dealers, customers, suppliers and community.

16.   Maintain operations within budget.

17.   Ensure safe work practices and good housekeeping is promoted

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Create an effective production team through written and verbal communication.

2.      Project a positive image to peers, subordinates and customers.

3.      Develop and provide appropriate training of leaders.

4.      Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business-related field.

2.      Ten years prior manufacturing / senior management experience

3.      Strong verbal and written communication skills

4.      Strong decision-making skills

5.      Successfully pass pre-employment background checks and pre-employment drug test.

6.      Physical requirements: regularly required to sit and stand; frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and components; and the ability to talk and hear.
