Department: 700 – Assembly
Pay Status: Non-exempt, Pay Grade V
SUMMARY: Perform assembly and installation of manufactured and purchased material, hardware and components to complete the interior and the exterior of the vehicle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive, review and interpret instructions, prints, and work orders for each unit.
- Operate small machinery, and power, hand and air tools to cut, shape, install and finish various assemblies within the vehicle.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of running boards and installation of rub rails.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of fenderettes.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of rear step and step ends.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of curb and rear people doors (both traditional and sliding), including latches, door rods, door panels, windows, stainless steel, gasket, and striker pins.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of shelf, shelf track and shelf ends.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of aspirator pump.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of compartment closeouts.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of outside storage doors, latches, door rods, door skins, vents, gasket, and striker pins.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of the squad bench components and accessories.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of all interior trim.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of interior lighting.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of O2 window and system
- Build, assemble and/or installation of pads and radius support materials.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of countertops.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of suction system and vent fan.
- Build, assemble and/or installation of general interior hardware: IV brackets, curb step diamond plate, threshold, stainless steel.
- Clean and detail interior of vehicle
- Caulk interior trim and stainless steel
- Clean and detail exterior OSS compartments and fill and touch up all holes
- Inventory and fill departmental Kan Ban locations
- Miscellaneous company projects
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verification and inspection of interior and exterior assemblies and installations.
- Open communication with all Assembly, Electrical and Quality Assurance personnel
- Keep assigned area clean and orderly.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with small machinery, power, air and hand tools, and tape measure.
- Experience with assembly and/or construction work desirable.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, as well as at random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol tests thereafter.
- Physical requirements: regularly required to stand, crouch, and kneel; frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and components; occasionally required to stoop or crawl and the ability to talk and hear.
