“The EMS profession deserves our utmost respect and appreciation at all times, especially during National EMS Week,” says Vice President of the Commercial Division US, Kerri Walker. “We recognize the important role EMS professionals play in our local communities. Our role is to build high-quality, custom ambulances, but the people powering them are the ones who show up and risk their own lives when we need them most. National EMS Week is a small way to acknowledge their sacrifices and commitment to their profession. It is our honor to celebrate the significant impact they make every day.”
National EMS Week was established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of EMS practitioners in communities throughout the United States. The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) partner to lead the annual EMS Week activities. This year marks the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week, and the theme for the milestone year is “Honoring Our Past. Forging Our Future.”
Braun Ambulances will observe the week by sharing content and social media resources related to each daily theme. 2024 themes include Health, Wellness, and Resilience Day, Education Day, EMS Safety Day, EMS for Children Day, Save-A-Life Day, EMS Recognition Day, and EMS Remembrance Day.
