Continuing our series highlighting Braun ambulance dealers, today we’re featuring Ten-8 Fire Equipment. Ten-8 Fire Equipment serves the states of Florida and Georgia. They are also a Braun authorized service center.
Ten-8 Fire Equipment has its beginnings in the early 1970s as Don Bouwer Fire & Safety Equipment. In 1985, as the company grew and established partnerships with major suppliers of emergency equipment, the company was incorporated under the name Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. The name comes from the standard code system that police, fire and emergency personnel use for radio communication. The code “10-8” means “in service.” Ten-8’s company motto is: “In Service To Serve You.”
Ten-8 has sales and service centers in Forsyth, Georgia; Sanford, Florida; DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Pompano Beach, Florida; and Bradenton, Florida which serves as the corporate headquarters. The service centers are equipped with paint booths, pump testing facilities, and fabrication machinery. They are staffed with in-house, certified EVT technicians. They also offer mobile service options throughout their territory to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on-location.
The company represents many major manufacturers of fire and emergency apparatus and equipment. They have been a Braun ambulance dealer for roughly a year and a half. The following sales team members represent the Braun brand in their respective regions: Guy Binion – Western and Northern Georgia, Jeff Amlong – Eastern Georgia, Bob Ivey – Northern Florida, Cindy Morgan – Central & Southern Florida.
Ten-8 Fire Equipment was attracted to the Braun Industries line of ambulance models primarily for their high quality construction techniques and comprehensive warranty program. “The level of detail Braun gets into during the design and engineering of each vehicle is very impressive,” says Cindy Morgan, VP of Equipment & Rescue Sales at Ten-8 Fire Equipment. They also appreciated that Braun was a family-run, privately-owned company.
Ten-8 Fire Equipment is the dealer responsible for working with Braun Industries and Volusia County Fire Services to design and build four custom Patriot units. These units were recently on display at the Fire-Rescue East Trade Show in Daytona Beach, FL, where they were well received with lots of interest. The custom Patriot units are an all-in-one ambulance, rescue vehicle, and fire truck. They are comprised of a 2011 Patriot Module, a 2011 Spartan MetroStar Chassis, and a Waterous CAFSystem (compressed air foam system). Visit our site for more information on these units, as well as a video tour.
