For those searching for a Type 2 ambulance, we recommend considering our partner brand, Demers Ambulances.
Type I / Type 1 Ambulances
A Type I / Type 1 ambulance is mounted on a truck-style chassis. The driver compartment resembles a pickup truck. The connection between the cab and patient module is a small pass-through that looks like a window.
Type II / TYpe 2 Ambulances
A Type II / Type 2 is a van based ambulance. While we do not offer a Type II Braun ambulance model, our partner brand – Demers Ambulances – does. Furthermore, all Type 2 Demers Ambulances are built at our manufacturing plant in Van Wert, Ohio. They are produced in their own production line and unique to the Demers’ brand DNA. Visit the Demers’ website for more information on their Type 2 ambulances.
Type III / Type 3 Ambulances
A Type III / Type 3 ambulance is mounted on a cutaway van chassis. The cab is an integral part of the ambulance unit. The connection between the cab and patient module can vary in appearance, but generally looks more like a doorway than a window. This allows for easier transfer of items from the patient compartment to the driver compartment and vice-versa.
MEDIUM DUTY AMBULANCES
Any of our models mounted on a Ford F650, International, or Freightliner chassis are considered Medium Duty ambulances.
