LOCAL DEALER

Locate your

New Ambulance Dealer for North Carolina and South Carolina

For many of our customers, a regional dealer is their first point of contact with Braun. Working with our dealer partners, we ensure our customers’ needs are met at a local level for new ambulance sales and service. Throughout our 45 years in business, we’ve established an incredible network that helps us serve customers nationwide. We wanted to take some time to highlight them one by one; today we’re kicking things off with Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus.

Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus is our new ambulance dealer for North Carolina and South Carolina. Headquartered in Roebuck, SC, they are also a Braun Authorized Service Center with 3 service locations. Committed to delivering the most reliable and dependable emergency apparatus, backed by unmatched customer service, Spartan Apparatus is poised to serve you.

Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus was established in 1973. When they began selling fire apparatus for Pierce in South Carolina, there were only 3 Pierce units in service. Today, there are more than 700! Through the years, Spartan Apparatus has experienced steady growth and is recognized for their stability within the industry.

The Braun ambulance lineup is a perfect fit for Spartan’s existing customer base or new departments seeking a high quality, custom ambulance. Today, the Chief XL model on a Type III platform is a popular choice in the region. It’s a larger model, providing the optimum in room, storage, and comfort, and delivering one of the highest usable payloads in the industry. However, the dealership is predicting a shift in trend soon. The Carolinas’ Fire and EMS service is all about tradition, with history often repeating itself as the old circles back in as new. They anticipate more departments purchasing Type I units, as many replaced their fleets with Type IIIs years back.

When asked, “What’s one innovation or design feature you recommend on a Braun ambulance and why?” Robby Fore, President of Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus answered: “Our MasterTech IV™ Electrical System! Here is one of many reasons… If one of our zones fail, our Medics can still work. The work lights in the other areas work along with warning lights. I never want the thought of knowing that because of an electrical system failure a small kid or someone’s love one couldn’t be saved because the ambulance went out of service in transport!” We completely agree, Robby!

If you’re located in North or South Carolina and are interested in purchasing a new Braun ambulance, we encourage you to reach out to Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus. They have two dedicated sales representatives eager to earn your business. John Love covers the state of South Carolina and has over 10 of experience selling emergency vehicles and equipment. Chad Holland represents customers in North Carolina and has over 24 years of experience in Fire/EMS and 8 in Law Enforcement. Call Toll Free 866-582-2376 to get in touch with either of them, or complete this quick form and receive a follow up within 2 business days at the latest!

BRAUN INDUSTRIES & PIERCE MANUFACTURING PARTNER FOR ALL-IN-ONE APPARATUS

The Braun Patriot ambulance will be built on Pierce’s Saber® chassis.

Van Wert, OH (July 28, 2017) – Braun Industries and Pierce Manufacturing Inc., an OshKosh Corporation company (NYSE: OSK), announced today they will be partnering to bring the Pierce Saber® chassis to the Braun Patriot ambulance. This exclusive partnership will further enhance the Patriot model, a versatile apparatus that can serve as an ambulance, rescue vehicle, and fire suppression unit. Ideally suited for volunteer fire departments without the manpower to staff several emergency vehicles, Pierce’s industry-standard chassis – the Saber® – will be a welcome addition to the model.

“We are very pleased to have two power-house, premium brands – Braun and Pierce – come together for the development of this product,” says Braun Industries President, Kim Braun. “Our Patriot ambulance model will be offered on the Saber® chassis platform. This exclusive module/chassis combination will meet the needs of our customer base in serving local communities with the highest degree of reliability and excellence you can find in a work truck.  Our two companies have many similarities, and those alignments start first and foremost with our commitment to quality.”

The Braun Patriot model was designed with the EMS industry in mind. Engineered to respond to more than 95% of emergency calls, it covers EMS-related, light rescue, and/or light suppression dispatches. With 73 inches of interior headroom and enough room for up to six crew members and emergency medical equipment, the Patriot delivers maximum interior space and increased available payload inside the box. With ample room for emergency medical equipment and supplies to aid in rescue, and the capacity to carry water, every inch of the vehicle is utilized to perform a wide variety of emergency services.

The Pierce Saber® chassis is the perfect complement to the Patriot ambulance. Built with the value-driven firefighter in mind, it offers exceptional visibility, greater space, improved ergonomics and streamlined serviceability.  With seating capacity for 8 and a Cummins L9 engine, it is the ideal chassis for the Braun Patriot model.

Both companies are excited to announce this exclusive partnership. The two are well-known in the Fire/EMS industry for their exceptional commitment to quality and safety, and together they will deliver a premium product. They are currently accepting orders for the new Patriot model on the Saber® chassis. The first completed unit is set to display at FDIC 2018.

Type I Ambulances on Display at FRI 2017

We will be attending Fire-Rescue International July 27 – 29, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. Being held at the Charlotte Convention Center, the conference and exhibition is hosted by the International Association of Fire Chiefs – and better known in the industry as FRI. Ambulance dealers from our nationwide network will be joining our corporate sales team to staff Booth #1108. The booth will house three new Type 1 ambulance units, featuring a Liberty, Super Chief, and Express Plus model.

Fire-Rescue International is an annual event focused on delivering first-class senior-level leadership training to fire chiefs. Company officers, chief officers, and those aspiring to be in fire leadership positions will converge at the Charlotte Convention Center on July 26, 2017 when the conference kicks off. A mix of classroom education sessions, networking events, and an exhibit hall packed with the latest in fire industry products, services, and apparatus, FRI is a premier event for the Fire Industry.

“FRI is one of those shows that we always attend,” says our Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Chad Brown. “It’s a great opportunity for us to catch up with customers old and new, as well as see what’s trending in the Fire Industry and how we can enhance our fire specific offerings to better meet those departments’ needs. We’re planning a significant update to our Patriot model that we will debut in Q2 2018, and in preparation for those upcoming changes we’ll be using FRI 2017 to continue to learn more about what fire departments with EMS capabilities desire and demand in an all-in-one apparatus or ambulance model.”

We will have three Type 1 ambulance units on display in Booth #1108. The first is a Type I Liberty model from Charleston County. Built on a 2017 RAM D4500 4 door 4×2, the ambulance features a Liquid Spring suspension system, ZOLL EMS Road Safety System, Whelen Howler Siren & Speaker System, EZ 02 Lift, MediKool Dual Temperature unit, and EVS Hibac V2 with integrated child seat/attendant seat.

Also on display will be an Express Plus Type 1 ambulance from Greenville County EMS. The 2017 Ford F-450 Extended Cab provides the department plenty of space, and a Liquid Spring suspension system offers a smoother ride for patient and crew. Sierra Wireless oMG 532 delivers secure, wireless wide area networking for the vehicle. Tecniq LED strip lighting in the OSS compartments, a Knox MedVault 2 5520 series narcotics locker, and EVS swivel fold down seat with slide track on curbside are also featured on this unit.

Lastly, Booth #1108 will include a Braun Demo Super Chief Type 1 ambulance. Placed on a Freightliner M2 chassis, the demo unit includes Tecniq D21 lights on each side of the rear of the module and Tecniq D21 lights on the top of the side of the module for enhanced visibility. Inside, there are Tecniq LED strip lights in the ceiling. A Mobileye 630 collision avoidance system with vibration alert system is tied into the driver’s seat. Always focused on ambulance safety, this will offer the driver real-time collision avoidance intelligence to help mitigate a potential accident.

To see any of these units on display, plan to visit us in Booth #1108 at FRI 2017. Exhibit hall hours are Thursday, July 27th from 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday, July 28th from 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, July 29th from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Chad Brown, Eric Wilcox, and Jarret Hammons will be in attendance from Braun Industries direct, as well as several knowledgeable representatives from our ambulance dealers Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Spartan Fire & Emergency Apparatus, and Emergency Equipment professionals.

Those that cannot attend the conference in person should follow us on Facebook. We will be hosting Facebook Live sessions from the show floor, allowing anyone to get a peek inside the Type 1 ambulance units on display. Check out our Facebook page for a schedule of Facebook Live session days and times.

Specialty Care Transport Vehicle Delivered to Carle Arrow

Tomorrow is Emergency Medical Services for Children’s Day and so far in our series on pediatric ambulance units, we’ve featured Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Today, we’re talking about Carle Arrow to close out our feature on CCT transports just for littles. It truly is an out-of-this-world ambulance, and we were proud to deliver it earlier this month.

Carle Arrow Ambulance operates under the medical direction of Carle Foundation Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Urbana, Illinois. They serve patients in Champaign, Dewitt, Douglas and Vermilion Counties. Carle employees and physicians joined together to raise funds for this emergency vehicle under their Philanthropy’s Employees Giving Campaign.Dedicated to mother, baby, and children’s medical transport, the new state-of-the-art specialty care transport vehicle was unveiled to the public on May 1st and put into service on May 8th. It will be staffed by paramedics, EMTS, a critical care nurse, and a respiratory therapist. It will transport high-risk patients from hospital to hospital, and is expected to serve more than 1,000 patients per year.Mounted on a Ford F-450 chassis, the Braun Chief XL ambulance has several notable features. It includes a Federal EQ2B Electronic Q-Siren and Norcold refrigerator. To reduce road noise, there’s a sound deadening package. To increase patient comfort, there’s a blanket warmer located inside of an interior cabinet. An LCD fixed DVD monitor was installed in the ceiling near the rear entry doors and has dedicated DVD player speakers as well as Bluetooth integration for patient entertainment. Lastly, the pediatric ambulance is decked out in an impressive custom graphics package centered around a space theme.

The exterior of the unit reads “Future Astronaut Inside” and reinforces Carle’s mission of helping ensure children receive the proper care to help them grow up and be whatever it is they want to be. We are extremely honored to have worked on their new unit and cannot wait to see what else this amazing organization does through their charitable giving!

Mobile Intensive Care Unit Delivered to Nationwide Children’s Hospital

As we continue to highlight recently delivered Pediatric Units in awareness for Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Day, we turn our focus to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a leading pediatric care facility and research institute in Columbus, Ohio. They offer a wide range of services, including 24 hour pediatric and neonatal critical transport.

Each year, the hospital transports over 2,300 patients via mobile ICU, helicopter, and jet aircraft. Over half of those patients are neonates, and the transport team is one of the few in the country capable of transporting them on nitric oxide therapy and high-frequency oscillation at the same time. In fact, the youngest patient they have ever transported was only 22-week gestation and weighed a mere 1.1lbs.

The hospital has transported patients to or from 100 different referral facilities in 11 different states. The transport team is comprised of RNs, Respiratory Therapists, Transport Technicians (all EMT-P certified) and EMT drivers. They work together with medical doctors and medical control physicians to provide exceptional care during transport, and are also trained and proficient in many advanced skills including umbilical catheter placement, chest tube insertion, and more.

As you can tell, Nationwide Children’s Hospital is serious about its transport program. That’s why we are so honored we could work with them and our local ambulance dealer, Penn Care, to recently deliver a new Braun ambulance to them.

Nationwide-Childrens-PED-Unit-2.jpg

The hospital selected a 2017 Super Chief model on a Ford F-650. The Type I ambulance was delivered with a basic graphics package, but a highly-customized interior with colored upholstery for a kid-friendly feel. It features a Mac’s Lift Gate and Mermaid Medi-Kool climate controlled drug cabinet. In addition, it has a sound deadening package to help reduce road noise and a flip-down LCD screen with iPod integration.

Congratulations to Nationwide Children’s Hospital on their new Braun ambulance! We know they will do big things with it while serving their littlest patients!

Pediatric CCT Ambulance Delivered to Golisano Children’s Hospital

EMS Week 2017 is coming up next week, and we have some great things planned for it! Each day, we’ll be posting an educational image to our Facebook page. Anyone who shares that image on their page will be entered to win a Braun Strong hoodie and travel mug. There will be a new winner every day; so be sure to like our Facebook page for your chance to win!

As part of the EMS Week festivities, Wednesday (May 24, 2017) is set aside to recognize Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Day. This is a very important day to help highlight the various aspects of caring for children and raise awareness on how to improve the care for them in prehospital and acute care settings. To dig in further, we’re spending some time starting this week to highlight some of our more recently delivered pediatric units. These Critical Care Transport ambulances were designed specifically for children, and we are proud to be the ambulance manufacturer to design and build them.

DSC_8935 (Large).jpg

In 2014, we featured the first Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida unit on our blog and social media. We are proud to say that was not the last CCT ambulance built for the hospital in partnership with our Florida ambulance dealer, Ten-8 Fire Equipment. We recently delivered a 2016 Braun Responder. The interior of the vehicle features an EVS Folding Jump Seat for additional seating. More importantly, a fixed angled LCD Monitor and DVD system and eye catching, child-friendly graphics were added to the interior to make it a welcoming space for children of all ages. View additional images here.

DSC_8944 (Large).jpg

As you can see from the photos, the appearance of the ambulance was just as important to the hospital as the equipment included in it. Feeling comforted goes beyond the EMTs, nurses, and doctors at Golisano, and extends into every space their patients encounter. They go above and beyond to ensure their tiniest patients have a cheery space inside their facilities, or on the road from one to another while under their care.

Since late 2010, the hospital has been working on a $242 million project with the Lee Health Hospital System to build and move into a new facility. It raised $100 million in private money alone, and some of that went directly to the new ambulance unit. Just last week, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida opened its new seven-story tower and relocated 82 patients from its old home inside HealthPark Medical Center. The new hospital has 128 beds and is filled with bright colors and images of happy, healthy children as part of its kid-friendly design. Each room is private and includes room for parents to stay overnight as well.

Congratulations to Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida on their new Braun Responder and amazing new facility. The children in their area are truly blessed to have such a fabulous hospital in their region, clearly dedicated to the emotional and physical wellbeing of their patients.

BRAUN AMBULANCES CELEBRATES 45 YEARS IN BUSINESS

View the full album of pictures on our Facebook page here.

On May 6th, we hosted an Open House in honor of our 45th anniversary. We had around 250 people attend, which included members of our community, customers from out of town, and many of our employees and their family members. The event was held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and included both facilities located on Production Drive.

That evening, we moved to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds for a celebration dinner. Employees and their significant others joined us for good food, awesome giveaways, and live entertainment. All departments were encouraged to make baskets for door prizes. We had some wonderful donations from our vendor network as well, which included Brown & Brown, Aflac, SYM, Cintas, McKanna Consulting, Vanner, Kussmaul Electronics, Pro Air, Hoseline, Whelen, Liquid Spring, Chemline, Axalta Coating, and Alro Steel.

The band, Nashville Crush, performed. From Lima, Ohio – a short drive from Van Wert – the group’s style is a mix of Country and Rock music. They have made a name for themselves locally as one of the best live bands around, and we were so excited to have them perform at our event! Overall, it was a great way to celebrate 45 years in business… and we look forward to many more with our Braun “family.”

braun-45th-open-3.jpg

“We took time to pause and celebrate our company’s 45th anniversary of producing premium ambulances with our employees and community,” says Braun’s President, Kim Bruan. “Our team of employees have a tremendous passion for serving this industry and producing high-quality vehicles that make a difference across the nation.  We are excited to continue the tradition long into the future.”

For those unable to attend FDIC in person, we will be streaming from the show each day on Facebook LIVE. This is a great opportunity to get a look inside our booth and units, as well as ask questions in real-time. We have created a schedule of streams for those interested in tuning in.
