When lives depend on your response, you depend on Braun’s unwavering commitment to safety – built into every detail of our emergency vehicles. With a steadfast dedication to customizable craftsmanship, rugged dependability, and legacy quality, we have consistently set the benchmark for ambulance safety, ensuring our units are built to protect and endure.
Every Braun ambulance complies with safety standards from AMD, CAAS GVS, FMVSS, Ford ProUpfitter, KKK-1822F, and NFPA. Merely meeting these standards is where we start, but going above and beyond is how we do business. Our legacy of quality ensures that every ambulance we build not only meets but also exceeds the established safety requirements, providing unparalleled protection for those who depend on them.
For decades, Braun has led the way in ambulances. Our journey began with challenging and surpassing the existing standards in roof and side load testing. The results were definitive: our modules exceeded the required load capacity by an astounding 300%. This achievement highlights the exceptional robustness of our engineering and underscores our commitment to legacy quality. At Braun, we don’t just build ambulances; we engineer lasting protection for those who rely on them.
In March 2016, Braun made history with the industry’s first ambulance rollover crash test. We didn’t stop there. We challenged ourselves further by taking the same ambulance through a side impact crash test and repeating the rollover test. In the real world, ambulances don’t jump up and roll over; they’re hit first. Subjecting the same vehicle to consecutive high-impact testing verified our ambulances’ structural integrity and rugged dependability under the most demanding conditions.

The data speaks for itself:
The side impact test used a Ford F-150 weighing over 4600 lbs. It was outfitted with accelerometers and rate sensors to measure the vehicle’s motion. It served as a bullet vehicle to impact the curbside of our new Braun ambulance. The Ford F-150 was traveling over 40 mph on impact. The impact created minor exterior body damage at the point of impact. The impact had no penetration into the occupant area…none!
The rollover test was conducted with the same ambulance utilized in the side impact test. This dynamic testing process generated a travel speed of over 25 mph before for the ambulance engaged the concrete track and began to rollover. The ambulance completed a full 360 degree rotation; landing on the wheels. The rollover created minor body damage at the points of impact. There was, again, no penetration into the occupant area…none! This ambulance has since been driven to multiple locations across the country for display and review by first responders.
Braun’s ambulances are engineered for life, showcasing unparalleled strength and dependability. Every unit we build reflects our dedication to customizable craftsmanship, designed to meet your department’s unique needs. Our unwavering commitment to safety and quality ensures that a Braun ambulance stands as a fortress of protection, a testament to our unwavering standards.
